As a producer, engineer, songwriter and bass player I have been fortunate to have been involved in dozens of albums and scores of songs over my 25 year career in the music industry. Music that I was involved with has been used in commercials, television and movies including the Grammy-award winning "El Existential" and Grammy-nominated "Sonidos Gold".

With 30+ years in the music business and 10 years experience as an educator I take great pleasure in sharing the hard-learned lessons of my music experience. Working from my private studio as well as through online lessons I can teach anyone, anywhere. Whether looking for bass lessons or wanting to learn about Ableton LIVE, Protools, Reason, or Logic X. I am also happy to tell stories of my journey as a speaker, panelist, guest lecturer or consultant.
I am a partner with the TRCOA, Anthropos Arts,Mosaic Edu and Casa de la Cultura as well as a private instructor. In 2019 I was selected as cultural ambassador for the city of Austin for my work with Grupo Fantasma in Russia and Turkey and I also recieved numerous grants allowing me to study music in colombia and to bring legendary artists such as Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), Jose Luis Carballo (Chacalon/Nueva Crema), and Joe Bataanto Austin for workshops, panels and performances. I was also honored with the designation of Community Partner by Austin's E4Youth program in 2017 and I was selceted as a member of Leadership Austin’s 2026 cohort.
As a musicologist and student of music, I've always enjoyed the talent of fine DJs/Selecters and aspired to become one myself. Whether curating a mix digitally or with vinyl I am always ready to set the vibe. Acquired through decades of record digging during my travels, I am happy to say my library contains a diverse set of sounds and styles gathered from trips throughout the world.

Event Production
As a founder of three successful touring acts and as a program manager for the City of Austin’s Music & Entertainment Division, I have spent years presenting and executing events and promoting them across multiple mediums and platforms. Leveraging my education (MA Advertising, University of Texas Austin) and my skills with the Adobe suite of graphic design and video editing tools I have created and promoted events and projects for as long as I have been performing music. With experience art directing merchandise and marketing campaigns to designing graphics, copywriting, video editing, website designing and managing social media accounts I have spent decades honing the craft of promotion. Over the past 30 years I have recorded on dozens of records for my own groups and for others. I have been fortunate to collaborate with amazing artists including Prince, Sheila-E, Kali Uchis, Cuco, Larry Harlow, Daniel Johnston, GZA, the Pharcyde, Chali 2na, Larry Harlow, Joe Bataan, and many others. My tours have taken me across the US, Canada and Europe, as well as to Turkey, the Middle East, Russia, and Pakistan. I have performed for and met with US soldiers in Kuwait, Iraq and Germany and I have performed on stages big and small.
I have taught and advised students of all ages and levels and, as program manager for the City of Austin music and Entertainment Division I have worked with government, non-profit and private-for-profit groups to promote and advance opportunities for musicians and music businesses. I have helped develop and administer grant programs and I have consulted with countless aspiring and established musicians/groups to assist them in achieving their potential.
I have participated in numerous musical panels and workshops in such diverse settings as WOMAD, SXSW, Music Mela Pakistan, Ural Music Night, and at the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA). I have also spoken with and advised students at the University of Texas in Austin, New York University (NYU), and Texas State University.
These experiences have taught me alot about the music industry, business and the civic and community mechanisms at play in developing, promoting and sustaining a music career. As a bandleader, band founder, business owner, and band manager I have acquired a wealth of knowledge over the years.
